of the 1st International Symposium on Advanced Functional Polymers and Flame-Retardant Materials (“SAFE 2026”)

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 1st International Symposium on Advanced Functional Polymers and Flame-Retardant Materials (SAFE 2026), which will be held from July 27 to 30, 2026, at the Congress Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Smolenice Castle, Slovakia.

Advanced functional polymers and flame-retardant materials are of growing importance due to their crucial role across modern technologies, ranging from high-performance composites and smart polymers to fire-safe energy materials such as Li-ion batteries. As global demands for safety, sustainability, and intelligent materials continue to rise, innovative research in these fields is essential for advancing next-generation applications and enhancing the resilience of our built environments.

SAFE 2026 brings together Theme 01–Advanced Functional Polymer Materials & Composites, and Theme 02–Flame-Retardant Materials & Fire-Safety Polymers-to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and stimulate new ideas. This inaugural meeting represents a significant step toward uniting global experts dedicated to polymer innovation, fire safety, and sustainable material development.

The symposium will take place near Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and unique blend of Central European history.

The venue, Smolenice Castle, offers an inspiring and picturesque setting. With its centuries-old architecture, serene natural surroundings, and distinguished historical significance, the castle provides a memorable and motivating atmosphere for scientific exchange and collaboration.

Abstract Submission is now Open.  Deadline of submission is due 20 March 2026.

Acceptance decision on submission will be before 31 March 2026.

Registration is Open. Early bird registration is before 15 April 2026.

Important reminder: as the castle has limited hosting capacity, we will stop accepting registrations once the maximum number of participants is reached.
